Breath Taking Mountain Top Wedding

Kacie and Colin's wedding was a testament to love, adaptability, and the beauty of New Hampshire's natural landscapes. Kacie reached out to me two years before her big day, knowing that the planning process would require extra care and attention. Colin, serving in the Navy, would be on a submarine and largely unreachable during most of the preparations. It was clear from the start that this wedding would need to be as seamless as it was spectacular, and I was determined to make their dream day come to life.

The wedding was set on Kacie's family property in Westmoreland, NH, on the side of a breathtaking mountain. While the location was undeniably stunning, it also presented some unique logistical challenges. The event would span three distinct areas of the mountain—each requiring careful planning and coordination.

  1. The Base of the Mountain: This was where guests would arrive, park, or be dropped off by buses. We needed to ensure a smooth flow of arrivals, so we arranged for transportation to shuttle guests up the mountain efficiently.

  2. The Mountain Summit: This was the heart of the ceremony and cocktail hour, offering panoramic views that left everyone in awe. The challenge here was ensuring everything—from seating arrangements to floral décor—was perfectly set up in a location that was far from the main road.

  3. The Mid-Mountain Reception: Nestled in an old horse paddock under a grand tent, the reception was designed to be both elegant and inviting. This area needed to be transformed into a magical space for dining, dancing, and celebrating.

The week leading up to the wedding brought non-stop rain, which added an extra layer of stress and preparation. The rain had softened the ground, making it difficult for catering vans and other vehicles to navigate the terrain. At one point, a catering van became stuck in the mud. Thankfully, the father of the bride stepped in with the family’s tractor to rescue the vehicle, keeping everything on schedule. Anticipating these challenges, we had already arranged for lightweight golf carts to transport guests and supplies, ensuring that the event could proceed smoothly despite the soft ground.

As if the universe had been listening, the sun broke through just in time for the wedding day. The mountain was fresh and glistening, and the clear skies created a stunning backdrop for the celebration.

To bring their vision to life, we partnered with an incredible team of vendors. Afterall Florist created breathtaking floral pieces that perfectly complemented the natural beauty of the mountain. Celebrations Catering provided exceptional food and bar service, ensuring every guest was well-fed and delighted. For entertainment, Get Down Tonight DJ Services kept the energy alive throughout the evening.

The details didn’t stop there. A stunning cake from Baker's Station was a centerpiece of the reception, while Sundae Drive provided a whimsical ice cream sundae station that was a hit with guests of all ages. To navigate the terrain, we brought in CCE Golf Carts, ensuring guests could easily move between locations. Kristin LaFratta Photography captured every heartfelt moment, while the talented team at Renu Salon provided flawless hair and makeup services for Kacie and her bridal party.

The day itself was nothing short of magical. Guests were greeted with the serene beauty of the mountain and the warm, personal touches that reflected Kacie and Colin’s love story. The ceremony at the summit was filled with emotion, as the couple exchanged vows with the sweeping mountain views as their backdrop. The cocktail hour allowed guests to soak in the scenery while enjoying delicious hors d'oeuvres and signature drinks.

As the evening transitioned to the reception, the tented horse paddock was illuminated with twinkling lights, creating a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. The dance floor was alive with joy, and the ice cream sundae station added a playful and memorable touch to the night.

Despite the complexities of the location, the challenges of planning with Colin away, and the rainy week leading up to the wedding, the day unfolded flawlessly. Kacie later shared:

"The Moments to Remember NH team were incredible! We met with Amanda monthly for two years leading up to our wedding and the meetings were productive, informative, and reassuring. In the last few months before the wedding, we met with Amanda more frequently to ensure the final details were cemented. Amanda did a site walk-through early in the process to learn the location well and later was on-site to help organize the tent drop-off. Amanda and her team were incredible on the day of our wedding—they were crazy busy but got everything done and none of the rush or anxiety leeched into our experiences of the day! The team was over-prepared for problems so anything that arose was solved without needing the bride or groom’s intervention (or us even noticing a problem). Thanks to them, we had a fantastic wedding weekend that was free of stress!!"

This wedding was a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do. It was an honor to help Kacie and Colin celebrate their love in such a meaningful and unique way, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the warmth of family and friends.
